A removable brace is one that simply clicks onto your teeth and can be removed by you when necessary.
Removable braces explained
What are removable braces?
Removable braces are just that, removable! They simply click onto your teeth and can be taken out by yourself whenever you need to.
How do they work?
Removable braces are more commonly used when treating the upper teeth only, as their capabilities are fairly limited when compared to other braces. They're often used in conjunction with fixed braces when the patient requires a less straightforward treatment plan.
If your orthodontist has recommended removable braces, they'll make a mould of your mouth in order to create your bespoke brace. Once it's been made and correctly fitted, your orthodontist will be able to show you how to remove it yourself, as well as how to clean and care for it.
Invisalign is a well-known form of removable braces.
