Invisible braces, sometimes known as clear aligners, are one of the most popular orthodontic treatments for adult patients.
Invisible braces explained
What are clear braces?
Clear braces, sometimes called invisible braces or clear aligners are a clear acrylic aligner that fit perfectly to the outside of your teeth. They're one of the more popular choice for adults looking to straighten their teeth as they create a very subtle solution.
How do they work?
Once your braces are fitted and as your teeth gradually begin to move, you'll be fitted with a new aligner approximately every two weeks to help your teeth continue to align. To get the best results, it is recommended that you wear the aligners for around 22 hours a day.
Your bespoke aligners will be created using a virtual 3D treatment plan. This means you'll be able to see how your teeth will move with each aligned before you begin the treatment, as well as see the finished result.
How long will I have to wear them?
If your condition is mild, your course of invisible braces can work in as little as 12 months. However, for more complicated treatments, it could take up to three years. You can find out more information about clear/invisible braces on the British Orthodontic Society website.
