Oral Surgeon GDC - 63320 -- FDS RCS Eng (1991) BDS Ncle (1988)
Since qualifying in 1988 with a Bachelor in Dental Surgery at Newcastle Dental Hospital, I have worked in general hospital in Maxillo-Facial surgery in Derby at SHO level for 2 years.
From here I worked and taught in Malawi, Africa, for 3 years, teaching dental and medical students. On returning to the UK in 1994, I completed Vocational Training, joined the specialist list in Oral Surgery in 2001, and then went onto to work in general practice for 14 years, both NHS and privately, whilst also carrying out oral surgery procedures. In 2009, I gave up general practice to concentrate on Oral Surgery as an Oral Surgery Specialist, working in several Minor Oral surgery Units around the Midlands. In addition in 2011, I further expanded my oral surgery experience whilst teaching as a Honorary Clinical Tutor, in Oral Surgery, at Charles Clifford Dental Hospital in Sheffield, tutoring under- and post-graduates for 2 years. I currently am enjoying working in 6 different locations around the East Midlands, performing oral surgery on an NHS and private basis, and at the Nottingham Emergency Dental Walk-In Centre.
I especially enjoy working with nervous, anxious patients and, where appropriate, helping to train and mentor general dentists in oral surgery
