    I qualified from Guys Hospital in 1985. After spending 10 years in mixed practice in Kent, I moved to join Forest Lodge in 1995. I see my role as a general practitioner and family dentist and take great satisfaction in seeing subsequent generations being brought into the practice. Away from work I enjoy travelling and watersports.

  • Dr Katie Nurton

    Dentist GDC Reg No. 70595 | BDS Ncle 1995

    On qualifying from Newcastle, Katie joined the Royal Navy as a dental officer. She served in Hong Kong, Italy and the Falkland Islands as well as on HMS FEARLESS for 2 years, where they patrolled and exercised in the Mediterranean, the Black Sea and British waters. On completion of Katie’s commission, she worked in private dental practice and in special care dentistry in Hampshire.

    In 2010 as a family they relocated to Brunei, on the island of Borneo for three years where she worked looking after British and Gurkha soldiers and their families. On her return to the UK, Katie continued to work in Private and special care dentistry.

    Katie lives locally with her husband and three children. As a family they enjoy making the most of the Dorset countryside and beautiful coastline.

  • Dr Jasper Westhuizen

    Dentist GDC Reg No. 68662 | BChD Pretoria 1990

    Dr Westhuizen completed his undergraduate training in South Africa in 1990. He moved to England in February 1993 and holds membership with several dental societies.

    Jasper’s main focus is fitting dental implants and he has placed many since 2002. He very much enjoys finding the right solution for each of his patients.

    Away from the practice, Jasper enjoys art and sculpture and likes to spend time in the garden or on the water.


  • Stephanie Downton

    Hygienist CEB Dip Dent Hygiene 1994 - GDC No. 4600

    Steph trained at Kings College in London. She joined the practice in 2004, she is a great asset to the dental team. Steph also works with a Periodontologist one day a week and has a wealth of knowledge. In her spare time Steph enjoys walking, going to the gym and swimming. Steph also helps her husband with his Maintenance and Triathlon Bicycle Training business.

  • Nicola Bridges

    Hygienist Dip Dent Therapy Leeds 2003, Dip Dent Hygiene Leeds 2003 - GDC No. 6370

    Nicola graduated from Leeds Dental Institute in 2003. She is a dual qualified Dental Hygienist and Therapist & she has worked in a variety of dental practice settings from NHS Access Centre through to high end Specialist Periodontal practices. Nicola has worked in the UK and New Zealand. She joined the practice in 2010. ' I strive to provide my patients with a pleasant experience whilst achieving marked improvements in Oral Health'.

Dental Nurses

  • Tori Joiner

    Nurse / Receptionist NVQ Level 3 Dental Nursing, VRQ Level 3 Dental Nursing City and Guilds 2009 - GDC No. 183540

    Tori qualified as a dental nurse in 2009. She has 6 years previous experience working for the NHS, then moving on to Community Healthcare in Hampshire. She has a special interest in Implantology, where she nurses alongside the implant dentist in the practice. Tori enjoys keeping fit and has an interest in Yoga.

  • Danielle Hickman

    Nurse / Receptionist National Certificate NEBDN 2004, NEBDN Certificate in Dental Radiography 2011 - GDC No. 115560

    Danielle has been a dental nurse since 1999, she gained her qualification in 2004. She joined the practice in 2009. Danielle has taken a further qualification in Dental Radiography in 2011. Although Danielle has a mainly clinical role, you may see her on reception from time to time! In her free time, Danielle enjoys keeping fit and taking holidays in Cornwall.

  • Hannah Morrison

    Nurse / Receptionist NVQ Level 3 Oral Health Care: Dental Nursing & Indp Asses City and Guilds 2009 - GDC No. 181324

    'Hannah began working as a dental nurse in 2005, she gained her NVQ3 qualification in 2007. Hannah joined our practice in 2010, she enjoys working within a team and is calm and efficient. You will most likely see Hannah on reception, dealing with queries and making the patients feel comfortable. In her spare time Hannah enjoys family time with her Dalmatian 'Alfie', local Pubs and eating out.

  • Gabriella Dickson

    Nurse / Receptionist Diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 QCF City and Guilds 2013 - GDC No. 241688

    Gabriella started in Dentistry as a Dental Decontamination Technician before progressing onto her dental nurse training within the NHS Community Dental Service. Having qualified in early 2013 she joined our practice later that year. She has since successfully gained a post-graduate qualification in Dental Radiography allowing her to take radiographs of patients. Gabriella leads the practice in their decontamination procedures and ensures they adhere to current guidelines.

  • Lynette Gilford

    Practice Manager National Cert NEBDN 1996, National Cert NEBDN Oral Health Education 2000, ILM Level 5 Dip in Leadership and Management 2015 - GDC No. 150819

    Lynette has over 20 years experience in the dental field,she first started at the practice in 1997 as a dental nurse. After deciding to take a more clerical role in the practice, Lynette became Practice Manager in 2008. In 2015 she completed a ILM Diploma course in Leadership & Management. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, walking and has recently taken up a new hobby in photography.
