  • Neville Naterwalla

    Dental Surgeon DGDP(UK) 1995 BDS Lond 1991 - GDC number 67336

After qualifying in 1991, Neville started working in a busy dental practice in Central London. During this time, he undertook clinical attachments in oral surgery at Guys Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital which enabled him to gain further experience in dealing with more complicated surgical procedures.

After working in practice for 4 years, Neville decided to spend some time travelling and in 1996 he travelled through South East Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore), then went on to Australia where he travelled the whole continent culminating with crewing on a boat for 2 months from Cairns to Papua New Guinea and the Soloman Islands. Whilst in Honiara, the capital of the Soloman islands, Neville had the opportunity to work at the local dental clinic treating the island inhabitants. Neville was surprised to see how; with limited, basic equipment and extremely low levels of dental supplies they provided a good standard of dental care to the local people. In 1997 Neville reached New Zealand where he worked in private practice in the North and South Islands until 2000.

Neville returned to the UK in 2000 to work for a Dental Body Corporate where his initial role was primarily clinical however as the business grew and clinics were set up around the country, Neville became involved in setting up the dental surgeries within these clinics and training the dental teams which was a valuable insight into the mechanisms of how corporate dentistry works. This has no doubt helped Neville in his current role within Oasis Dental Care St. Andrews.

Apart from orthodontics, Neville carries out all aspects of general dentistry and minor oral surgery but particularly enjoys carrying out cosmetic dentistry such as crown and bridgework. In 2010 Neville completed a facial aesthetics course which now allows him to carry out non-surgical cosmetic enhancements and anti-ageing treatments which can be used to help his patients achieve a healthy and youthful appearance.
Neville feels that his past experiences in both the UK and abroad have helped him develop as a person as well as an experienced clinician. His philosophy has always been to enjoy the work that he does and this in turn will show through in good quality treatment being carried out in a happy working environment.
