Ricardo graduated in 2002 from the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Lisbon in Portugal, and soon moved to the UK, taking postgraduate education in many countries (mostly UK, also France, Spain, Cuba, Brazil, Sweden and USA), thus being exposed to different approaches and building up resources that his patients can benefit from.
In 2013 Ricardo embraced a new project, dedicating part of his time to research in Sweden, the pioneering country in Implant Dentistry, where he is contributing to advance the knowledge on how implants integrate with bone, bringing the immune system into a complex equation of cells and molecules and making sense out of it.

  • Katerina Struncova (known as Kate)

    Trainee Dental Nurse

My role is a trainee dental nurse. After graduating from university in the Czech Republic as an English teacher, I wanted to go abroad and use English in real life to perfect it and gain confidence to possibly teach in the future. While working in hospitality a conversation with a customer introduced me dental nursing, an opportunity I was keen to explore as I originally wanted to become a nurse when I was 15 years old.  I have now been working as a dental nurse since April 2016 and should graduate next year in the autumn.

I am a keen student and work hard to do my job properly. It is important to me to be sympathetic to my patients while helping my colleagues too.  The thing I like most about my role is the environment in which it takes place. I like keeping surgeries clean and tidy. I also like collaborating with dentists, and preparing materials for different treatments. I like the fact that it is a job that is always demanding – constantly moving around and being busy ensuring time flies and there is no time to get bored!  With a passion for improving gum and oral health I hope to study as a dental hygienist in the future.

In my down time I love doing yoga! There is nothing better than a good stretch and little bit of cardiovascular exercise! I also love reading books and listening to music.

  • Michelle Featherstonhaugh

    Trainee Dental Nurse

After leaving dental nursing to have my two little men, I decided that 3 years away had been long enough. I was itching to get back to it!

I started at Reigate Gentle Dental (now Oasis Dental Care) well over a year ago now and absolutely love it! There is never a dull moment, so if you don't see me dashing all over the place or hear me laughing down the corridor, I'll be rushing around after my two boys Andrew (4) and Harrison (3). With little over 11months between them, they’re enough to keep me on my toes from the moment they wake till their heads hit the pillow!

  • Carly Wood

    Trainee Dental Nurse

I am a trainee dental nurse and I chose to do this as I really enjoy it. I have family members that were dental nurses and they loved it.

I have been a trainee dental for 3 months but I have previous experience. The best thing about my job is it’s so varied and I enjoy meeting new people. I am working towards a qualification in dental nursing.

In my free time I like to take my dog for walks around the park and see new places.
