Dental treatment is offered on the NHS, privately and through Denplan Care Capitation Schemes. Treatments include preventative, restorative and cosmetic treatments. NHS dental treatment is carried out where it is clinically appropriate and essential in order to maintain a healthy mouth. Private dental care allows you to enjoy greater clinical freedom and more treatment choice options. As each person is unique, more time can be spent identifying your personal requirements and then more time on the treatment itself. Superior quality dental materials are also used. Your dentist will be happy to discuss with you any further information you require on these alternative schemes.
NHS patients are expected to pay the statutory dental charge in advance of receiving treatment. You must provide the necessary proof if you are exempt from these charges. Private dental treatment payment is usually made in stages as treatment progresses as agreed with your dentist. A copy of our private care fee scale is available from reception. Whichever option is agreed, an estimate of the costs will be given to you at the beginning of a course of treatment. Payment can be made by cash, Debit Card or Credit Card.
Please inform your dentist of any changes to your Medical History, including medication.
We maintain the highest standards of cross infection control for the health and safety of all our patients at all times, with all our cross infection control procedures conforming to regulatory requirements.
Cancellations and Missed Information
Please give your dentist at least 24 hours' notice, if you need to cancel an appointment. Should you give us less than twenty-four hours' notice of a NHS cancellation on two separate occasions or you miss more than two NHS dental appointments, we may not be able to complete your treatment and offer you NHS care in the future.
We have ground floor surgeries, a low level reception, a disabled person's toilet and a wheel chair ramp to help our disabled patients. We also have a reserved disabled person's parking bay.
Patient confidentiality is completely respected at all times. Staff are trained to follow our practice Confidentiality Policy. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy, please contact Mr Nick Grace our Practice Manager. If you would like a copy of your dental records, a written request is required before we can proceed. A fee is chargeable of up to £10.00 for computer held records or up to £50.00 for any records held manually. We will provide a copy of your records within 28 days of the request and payment.
Violence and Aggression
At our practice we will not tolerate violence or aggression towards any of our staff. If we find that patients are violent or abusive towards staff, they will be asked to leave the premises and they will not be allowed to return to complete their dental treatment. We will also report them to the police and NHS England if we consider it to be necessary. We define violence and aggression as – 'actual or threatened physical assaults on staff and psychological or verbal abuse, which includes shouting, swearing or gestures'.
We will allow patients to express a preference for a dentist subject to our current capacity – NHS Choices - www.nhs.uk
