Dr Neil Bremner
Dentist GDC Reg No: 228746 |BDS (Aberdeen) 2012, MBChB (Glasgow) 2001, BSc (Med Sci) Glasgow 1999, MRCS (Glasgow)2005.
Neil first qualified as a Doctor in2001, from the University of Glasgow. He gained extensive surgical experience and completed a basic surgical training programme and qualified as a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2005.
Neil worked in Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) and in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery departments across Scotland and also completed a years teaching post in St Andrews University Medical School. During this time Neil developed an interest in the treatment of head and neck diseases. An opportunity then arose to further develop his skills and knowledge in this field when he attended the University of Aberdeen Dental School, where he graduated in 2012.
With his extensive clinical skills and relaxed bedside manner, Neil chose a career in General Dentistry, which took him back to Glasgow, where he worked two very busy clinics. Here he gained experience in dental sedation and dental implants. His interest in these disciplines has been cemented by ongoing post-graduate training, with Neil becoming an NHS Education for Scotland sedation mentor, allowing him to train colleagues. He completed The Scottish Dental Implant Year Course in 2014 and has completed further advanced training in the restoration of single, multiple and full mouth implants and using bone grafting and augmentation procedures to allow implant placement in cases where conventional techniques may mean implant treatment is not possible.
His dual qualification coupled with his medical and surgical experience enable him to work with his patients to discuss and choose the treatment option to suit their needs. He finds this particularly satisfying when helping patients with dental anxiety to build confidence back up to allow treatment to be completed.
When the chance came to move back up to his native Highlands, Neil and his young family jumped at the chance and are now settled in Inverness. As well as hanging out with his family Neil loves being active and enjoys running, mountain biking and swimming most often but any outdoor adventure is fair game.
