    I joined The Darlington practice in 2006. I have gained a vast amount of knowledge in a number of key areas in the field of dentistry and am interested in providing enhanced skills procedures. I have completed an Implant Course in London and Cambridge and a BUPA Accredited Enhanced Skills Endodontics course to further my knowledge. I was awarded Oasis Dentist of the Year in 2012 for my achievements.

    I have been a clinical mentor for dentists within Bupa and a clinical supervisor for undergraduate students in Carlisle, having completed my Facilitating Learning in Healthcare Practice from UCLAN. I provide clinical support for the Northern England and Scotland Oasis Practices as my role as Regional Clinical Services Advisor.

    I currently provide cosmetic procedures including fixed and clear aligner short term orthodontics procedures using Month Smiles, Inman Aligner, CFast and Smile Tru systems. As part of the Bupa Dental Care enhanced skills practitioner course, I accept referrals for endodontic and periodontal procedures. I am able to provide facial aesthetic procedures as I am currently completing a postgraduate certificate for professional non-surgical aesthetic practice through Northumbria University.

    I qualified from Manchester in 2008 and moved back to my home town of Guisborough. I joined the Darlington team in June 2013. I love meeting new people so working as a dentist is perfect for me. I enjoy all aspects of my job but I particularly enjoy treating children and doing cosmetic tooth straightening with braces. I recently did a teaching qualification which allows me to train newly qualified dentists and I hope to get my new trainee in September 2017.

    I qualified from Manchester in 2008. I joined the Darlington team to be closer to home. I have a special interest in oral surgery and dental implantology. I have completed my MSc in implantology at Manchester University and can help provide dental implants to replace your missing teeth and to help improve your smile.

    I qualified in 2010 in Greece. I relocated to the UK in 2012. Since my relocation I have providing NHS dental services alongside with private treatment. I joined Darlington May 2016 and enjoy working with a really friendly professional team. I enjoy dealing with children and putting them at ease while visiting to the dentist.

  • Piotr Sztencel

    I graduated from Jagiellonian University in Krakow in 2001 and went on to work in a children department at Jagiellonian University alongside working as a general dental practitioner in a private dental practice in Krakow. During this time I was also a co-managing a medical clinic in Krakow.

    I moved to the UK in 2005 and commenced my work in a position of associate dentist in a dental practice in Tyneside before joining dental sedation team in dental practice in Teesside in 2009.  I joined Bupa Darlington in 2018 in a role of General Dental Practitioner.

    I was awarded diploma in Conscious Sedation in Dentistry from Newcastle University in 2011. I am currently studying towards a master’s degree in restorative dentistry at University of Birmingham.

    My area of interest focuses around treatment of anxious patients and provision of Minimal Intervention and Minimally Invasive Dentistry.

    I qualified in 1979 as a dental hygienist. The new practice is a fabulous place to work and I enjoy working with the friendly team here at Darlington. I see patients alongside Dr Craig Fleming and welcome any new patients to come see me for Direct Access.

I have a caring and empathetic approach to dental care and I have demonstrated a commitment to improving oral health of patients. I participate in various continual professional development courses in order to further develop my skills and knowledge. Furthermore,   I am a member of BSDHT which allows me to keep up to date with dentistry based on evidence-based practice.

    I joined Bupa Dental Care Darlington in December 2014 which was shortly after I qualified as a dental nurse. Since joining the practice I have achieved additional qualifications in Sedation, Oral Health and Radiography.  In 2015 I took part in a dental volunteer trip to Romania with the charity Dentaid and in June 2017 I took part in another volunteer trip to Kenya for 2 weeks to provide dental treatments.

    I joined Bupa Dental Care Darlington in 2017 after nursing for 9 years in a smaller dental practice.

    I am looking forward to having the opportunity to gain qualifications in a number of fields, including sedation which is a firm interest of mine.

    Whilst not at work, I enjoy days out with my family and going to the cinema.

     I started work as a trainee dental nurse in October 2000 and qualified in 2002. I also have qualifications in dental radiography and fluoride application.

    I have since progressed into my current role of Practice Co-Ordinator which involves supporting all team members, assisting the Practice Manager in the day to day running of the practice and acting in the manager’s absence.

  • Michelle Telford

    I have been in dentistry since 1988, where I started for an independent as a Trainee Dental Nurse, which I gained my qualification in 1991. Throughout my time with the practice I progressed from Dental Nurse/Receptionist to Practice Manager including overseeing 3 practices owned by the Principal.

    In 2000 our practice became part of Bupa Dental Care, which expanded my role as a Practice Manager. During this time I have been a dual site practice manager which gave me the opportunity to be accountable for two practice teams which was very rewarding working with two different teams of professionals. In 2012 I received Oasis Dental Care’s Practice Manager of the Year Award which I am very proud of, my certificate takes pride of place in my office.

    More recently I have moved into a larger site in Darlington, which has been very challenging and rewarding and I am continually striving to improve in every way.  I consider myself very privileged to work alongside great professionals making lifelong friends along the way.

    Outside of work I have lovely family which I cherish, and I enjoy spending time with my now teenage daughters – mainly shopping. I have taken part in The Great North Run in 2012 for Breast Cancer Care which affected a member of my family at the time, it was an amazing honour and achievement to be a part of with so many incredible people all running for different causes close to their heart. I also enjoy family holidays, socialising and eating out with great company.
