  • Dr Michael Goldstone

    Senior Associate Dentist GDC Reg No. 83404 | BChD Leeds 2004 Hons, MFDS RCS (Eng)

    Michael qualified from Leeds University in 2004 graduating with Honours and followed it a year working at Bupa Dental Care Heckmondwike. He then went to work in the oral and maxillofacial department of Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield. Here, he completed his fellowship examinations (MFDS) at the Royal College of Surgeons (England).

    Michael founded the practice with James Taylor in 2006 and has taken pleasure in building the practice into what is now Bupa Dental Care Castleford.

    Michael has embarked on international training programmes and is yet to stop! His training for implant and cosmetic dentistry has taken him to America, Spain, Germany, Austria, Ireland and occasionally the UK.

    Michael has recently completed the first part of a Masters (MClinDent) programme in clinical dentistry and, in fact, won the ‘best dentist’ award for part of the training. He strives to be the best he can in his professional life and enjoys difficult and challenging cases having carried out advanced implant and cosmetic dentistry for now over a decade.

    Michael is married with two girls. He is a keen runner and recently boasts completion of New York, Boston, Chicago and London marathons, amongst others!

  • Dr James H Taylor

    Senior Associate Dentist GDC Reg No. 71873 | BDS Ncle 1996, MFDS RCS Eng 1999

    James Taylor qualified in 1996 in Newcastle and became a senior house officer in restorative dentistry at Leeds Dental Hospital in 1998, where he also completed his MFDS Royal College of Surgeons examinations. His orthodontic training and clinical attachment at Pinderfields Hospital increased his scope further, allowing combined treatment options for patients.

    He has recently passed the British Academy Of Restorative Dentistry (Bard) exams in aesthetics and restorative dentistry, forming the first part of a Masters (MClinDent) programme.

    James also continues to complete further training in the USA and Europe in advanced and complex restorative & cosmetic dentistry, dental implants and soft tissue surgery. He also trains in all types of orthodontics, including lingual orthodontics.

    More recently, James has evolved his work to include SameDay Cerec and 3D dentistry for general, cosmetic and implant rehabilitation.

    James believes in a good work-life balance. He has a wonderful family including his wife Katie, his three daughters and his dogs Lincoln and Hudson! This family support allows James to give his all to the practice and allows him time to switch off and pursue his hobbies of golf and travelling.

  • Debbie Ryall

    Associate Dentist GDC Reg No. 211101 | BchD Leeds 2001, MFDS, RCPS (Glasgow)

    Debbie studied at Leeds University in 2001. Then, for a year, she completed some vocational training at a General Dental Practice in Selby. Debbie then went on to complete a year of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Bradford Royal Infirmary where she gained experience in difficult extractions and diagnosis & treatment of oral diseases including oral cancer. During this year, Debbie completed the Diploma in Dental Surgery.

    Debbie joined the practice in 2013 and enjoys providing routine dental care for the whole family. She has also been selected by the Yorkshire Post Graduate Deanery to be an educational supervisor for foundation dentists in their first year in Practice.

  • Rebecca Nutter

    Associate Dentist GDC Reg No. 211771 | BChD Leeds 2011, MFDS, RCPS (Glasgow)

    Rebecca graduated from Leeds in 2011. She obtained a training job with the Yorkshire Deanery which mixed general practice, oral surgery at Pinderfields Hospital and orthodontics in Leeds for two years. During this time, Rebecca completed further education and sat her exams for the Royal College of Surgeons (England). She has been working at the practice since 2013. 

    Rebecca loves the gym and the outdoors, including horse riding, skiing and various other sports.

  • Philip Hawkins

    Associate Dentist GDC Reg No. 193933 | BDS Sheffield 2010

    Philip qualified from Sheffield University in 2010. Following a year working in Lincolnshire as part of his vocational training, he returned to Yorkshire as an associate dentist treating a variety of NHS and private patients. He is also working towards his Masters in Restorative Dentistry (MClinDent) in association with Tipton Training. Outside of dentistry, Philip takes an interest in digital photography and climbing.

  • Orlagh Hayden

    Associate Dentist GDC Reg No. 258754 | BChD Leeds 2015

    Orlagh graduated from the University of Leeds in 2015, she joined the team in Castleford after working for a year in the Halifax practice. She is studying to become a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons and has successfully completed the first part of her exams. Orlagh is an excellent addition to the Castleford team and has become very popular with the patients. She is originally from Ireland and she loves visiting her friends and family there. Outside of the practice, she enjoys going to the gym and exploring Yorkshire.

  • Yahya Patel

    Dentist GDC Reg No. 270849 | BChD Leeds 2017

    Yahya graduated from the Leeds Dental Institute and was awarded the prestigious Jane Livingstone prize in periodontology (the treatment of gum disease). He joined the practice in 2017 and is an enthusiastic and friendly member of the team. He also works in 2 practices across Yorkshire.

    Yahya provides routine general dentistry, teeth whitening, composite bonding and cosmetic tooth alignment including Invisalign. Yahya is committed to postgraduate education and has recently embarked on a master’s degree in restorative dentistry.

    Outside of work, Yahya is a season ticket holder at Manchester United and enjoys playing football regularly.

  • Ayesha Patel

    Dentist GDC Reg No. 270809 | BChD Leeds 2017

    Ayesha graduated from University of Leeds in 2017. Following a year working in Durham, Ayesha moved back to Yorkshire and joined the team in September 2018.

    Outside of work she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

  • Lori Coulson

    Therapist GDC Reg No. 101329 | Dip Dent Hygiene Leeds 2005, Dip Dent Therapy Leeds 2005

    Lori graduated in Dental Hygiene and therapy at Leeds Dental Institute. Having finished her A-levels at 18, Lori decided to take a short break from studying and gained a job in her hometown of Barnsley nursing for a dental therapist. This sparked her interest to return to university and study therapy. After qualifying, she came to work at the practice over a decade ago.

    Lori is a proud mummy of two boys so life is rather busy. Lori loves to travel with her family anything from short weekend camping trips to soaking up the sunshine in warmer countries. If Lori does get to spend time by herself, she likes to reach for her Kindle!

  • Malisa Sanders

    Therapist GDC Reg No. 171233 | Hygiene Therapy Leeds University 2008

    Malisa began dental nursing in 1997 qualifying in 2000. She then became a Practice Manager in 2001. Malisa later studied at Leeds University and completed her dental hygiene therapy qualifications in 2008. She has been at the practice now for over eight years.

    Malisa is a married mother of two teenage girls both representing Yorkshire in their sports. She is involved with Leeds athletics club and Wetherby girls gymnastics club in her spare time.

  • Michelle Bateman

    After working for a few years as a qualified dental nurse, Michelle graduated from Leeds Dental Institute as a dental hygienist and therapist with distinction in 2008. Prior to joining the Castleford team in 2010, she has worked in a mix of both private, NHS and community dental practices. She enjoys treating all patients.

    Amy started at the practice as a trainee and has since qualified as a dental nurse. She works with all the different dentists and therapists in the practice.

    In her spare time, she enjoys fitness related activities and spending time with friends.

    I began my career 4 years ago as a sterilization nurse, and after 2 years decided I wanted to further my career and began my training to become a dental nurse.

    I have been a qualified dental nurse for 2 years and love my job and my colleagues. We are a great team and work well and support each other.

    I as a nurse I rotate with other nurses getting to work with all different dentists and hygienists and I also cover on reception when needed. I have a NVQ level 2 in customer service and am going to be studying for a qualification in dental radiography as I am always looking to progress.

    In my spare time I love spending time with my family, going on holiday and looking after my little boy.

    I have worked at the practice for 9 years as a dental nurse.

    I attended Wakefield College in 2010 where I obtained my NVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing Qualification. I work both in surgery and on reception and enjoy both roles equally. I love working at the practice and have a wonderful relationship with all my colleagues.

    When I’m not working I love spending time with my husband and 2 children.

  • Karen Lambert

    Dental Nurse GDC Reg No. 122347 | Nat Cert in Dent Nursing 1992

    Karen started her dental nursing career in 1989 and qualified in 1992 gaining the National Qualification. Karen works full time managing and over seeing the day to day running of our Cerec ‘in lab’ crown system, which she really enjoys.

    She also provides dental nurse cover in the dental surgery when needed.

    Karen enjoys gardening, spending time with her husband and cats and is totally crazy about animals.

    I started dental nursing at 18 and studied at Wakefield College to gain the qualifications I needed to register as a dental nurse.

    I love my job and have been dental nursing now for almost 10 years; recently I have been promoted to Lead Dental Nurse. I have experience in all areas of dentistry, including implants and sedation which I attended a 2 day course on in London.

    When I’m not working I spend all my time with my 2 daughters.

    I have worked here now for nearly 9 years. I attended Wakefield college to gain the qualifications I needed to become a registered dental nurse. My other responsibilities within the practice include maintenance and servicing of equipment and COSHH.

    I have experience in all aspects of dental nursing including Sedation and Implants. I love all aspects of my job but specifically surgical extractions.

    In my spare time I enjoy long walks with my dog Jess and spending time with my son.

    I really enjoy my job and especially love running my own oral hygiene sessions twice a week at the Practice.

  • Shauni Robert

    Patient Care Co-ordinator RDN 2015

    Shauni joined the practice as a full-time trainee dental nurse in 2013, qualifying in 2015 at Wakefield college. She has since progressed to become a patient care coordinator. 

    She enjoys taking on various tasks at the practice including, working on reception, nursing throughout sedation and implants, and would like to progress further knowledge within this field.

    In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and family and socializing with friends.
