Dental Nurses

  • Shumena Begum

    Lead Dental Nurse

Dental Nursing was never on my bucket list! However, finishing my social policy degree at Anglia Ruskin University, I was keen to begin a career. Having covered modules in healthcare, I was reassured that healthcare was the sector in which I wished to focus. I have worked at Oasis in Cambridge for 4 and a half years, starting as a Trainee Dental Nurse and now fulfilling my duties as Lead Dental Nurse. I have learnt so much about dentistry and I really enjoy being that helpful and supportive person to our patients. Patient care is my main focus as well as being one step ahead of the dentist to ensure a smooth running day and patient experience. Being Lead Nurse and managing the nursing team adds to my responsibilities and I enjoy these very much. I enjoy being busy and meeting the needs of the dentists, nurses and patients. In my spare time I enjoy going to the movies, reading books and going for long walks. Family and friends play a huge part in my life and so spending quality time with them is essential.
