    Paul has over 20 years' experience in implant and advanced restorative dentistry. His passion is to provide the best quality dental treatment and outcomes for his patients.

    He strives for this by using the latest techniques and highest quality materials available and attending regular dental courses. Every patient is seen by Paul who then proposes a treatment plan on how best to achieve what the patient wants. As Paul says ‘I am an expert on teeth but you are an expert on what is right for you’. Paul attends many courses world wide and teaches other dentists nationally. He is one of only three UK mentors at the Kois advanced teaching centre in Seattle.

  • Dr Christopher Hanford

    Chris enjoys all aspects of dentistry, particularly aesthetic dentistry, restorative dentistry and cosmetic braces.

    Originally from Manchester, he moved to the North East to study at Newcastle University where he graduated in 2007, and it has been his home ever since. He is dedicated to postgraduate education and passed the Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons examination from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2010. Chris has a particular interest in minimally invasive aesthetic dentistry, restorative dentistry and cosmetic braces, being proficient in Invisalign, 6 Month Smiles and the Inman Aligner.

    Chris has completed numerous courses and learned from leaders in their fields including the prestigious one-to-one 18-month implant course at Sheffield University and a year-long aesthetic and restorative dentistry course with Dr Chris Orr. He enjoys putting nervous patients at ease and helping them overcome their fear of coming to the dentist and takes great pride in providing high quality dental treatment. Working at the Dental Hospital as a part-time Associate Clinical Lecturer where he teaches final year dental students is also a great part of his week. Outside of work he likes to stay active, playing five-a-side football and squash. He enjoys skiing and is an enthusiastic golfer when time permits. He also loves watching as much football as he can get away with.

  • Dr Chris Rutter

    Dentist GDC Reg. No: 150240 | BDS Birm 2008

    Chris was born and bred in Sunderland, he left for the University of Birmingham and completed his dental degree in 2008 to come back to the North East where he has worked ever since.

    As dentistry is ever evolving Chris is passionate about continuing education and has attended various practical and theoretical courses since university and also organises a study club providing training for local dentists.

    Having been at the practice since 2016 he is excited to be working here with colleagues who he considers to be the best in the region. In terms of dentistry Chris loves to meet new patients and guide them along the way by offering aesthetic restorative dentistry, cosmetic orthodontic braces and restoring implants.

    Outside of work he is a father to a young daughter and a golden retriever called Mabel, he likes to maximise whatever free time remains by socialising, watching films and eating out. Chris is also keenly interested in photography, architecture, and is easily side-tracked into talking about rugby and for his love of Sunderland AFC.

  • Dr Jas Jandoo

    Jas Jandoo has been a qualified dentist for 10 years.

    She qualified from Manchester in 2008 and has a keen interest in cosmetic and implant dentistry. After qualifying, she spent six months at the Leeds General Infirmary gaining surgical experience as a Maxillofacial Senior House Officer. He then got married and moved to the North East in 2010 and worked in Barnard Castle for three years.

    During that time Jas completed an advanced course in Restorative Dentistry and gained her MFDS qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh 2011. She later completed her Master's Degree in Dental Implantology. She has been providing dental implant treatment in general practices since 2011 and currently places and restores implants at three clinics within County Durham and Manchester. Jas believes in gentle dentistry and aims to ensure her patients are comfortable and relaxed at all times. She is hoping to begin a Diploma in Conscious Sedation in 2019, which should allow nervous patients to be treated in the practice. Outside of work, she is busy raising her little boy. Jas also enjoys travelling, cooking and baking.

    With over 20 years’ experience, Maxine has been a qualified hygienist since 1994.

  • Kay Pounder

    Kay loves her job and more importantly she loves the patients and the fantastic staff she works alongside. Kay enjoys educating patients and empowering them to achieve excellent dental health and the smile they deserve. She lives locally with her husband and her son Konner who is 14. Kay enjoys holidays and loves spending time with her family, she also loves the gym and attends classes to keep fit.

  • Naomi Penny

    Naomi has always had an interest in dentistry so when leaving her job in customer service to have her son she decided when returning to work to pursue a career as a dental nurse, she has never looked back. Even as a qualified nurse she is still enjoying learning new skills and growing into her patient care role. When she's not working Naomi loves to spend time with her family. Her son Alex and her husband Adam.

  • Louise Bruce

    Louise qualified as a dental nurse in 2005. Since qualifying she has developed a wide range of nursing skills including nursing with implants, orthodontics treatments, cosmetic procedures as well as routine dentistry.

    She loves working as part of a team and meeting patients making them feel at ease.

    Louise has a 10 year old son called Jak and a very recent addition to her family is a labro doodle dog called Ruben who is gorgeous. She loves socialising with friends and having days out with her family where she visits quite a few coffee shops sampling the latest cakes.

  • Lucy Willis

    Lucy has worked in the dental field since 2006 and qualified in 2009. In 2010, she qualified as an oral health educator and has since progressed to complete courses in fluoride application and impressions for dental nursing. Lucy also helps assist in dental implants and has a keen interest in this.

  • Dawn Rooney

    Dental Nurse GDC Reg. No: 268769 | Diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 QCF City and Guilds 2016

    Dawn qualified as a dental nurse in 2016 after completing her course at Washington Campus, Sunderland College. She enjoys the diversity that dentistry offers and even as a qualified nurse, she is always learning and developing new skills.

    Outside of work, she enjoys spending her free time with her family and her boyfriend Mark. She also has a young son called Elliot.
