  • Dr. Iain Morrison

    Dentist GDC Reg No. 192304 | BDS Ncle 2010, MFDS RCS (Edin)

    Iain graduated from Newcastle Dental School in 2010 and achieved a degree of BDS with merit in Clinical Dentistry and merit in Academic Dentistry. He divides his time between restorative and cosmetic dentistry and enjoys challenging cases. Iain has lectured to groups of dentists on short-term orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry. He has a PG Certificate in Endodontics.
    Outside of work, he enjoys cricket and rugby. If he could have an alternative career, he would be a professional cricketer.

  • Dr. Matthew Thorpe

    Dentist GDC Reg No. 74430 | BDS Ncle 1998, MFDS RCS Edin 2003

    Before joining Bupa Dental Care Morpeth, Matthew worked as Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Newcastle Dental Hospital and as a Senior Dental Officer within County Durham Community Dental Service.

    He obtained his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2003.

    In 2010, he completed the prestigious 'One to One" extended implant course at Sheffield University Dental School, which provided him with in-depth training to provide both the surgical placement and restoration of dental implants.

    Outside the practice, he loves to take his family hiking in the Lake District and absolutely loves Chinese food!

  • Dr. Natasha McCaldin

    Dentist GDC Reg No. 113024 | BDS Ncle 2007

    Natasha graduated from Newcastle Dental School in 2007 with a merit in Clinical Dentistry and also has a first class honours degree in dental technology. She enjoys both restorative and cosmetic dentistry and has a special interest in short-term orthodontics and facial aesthetics.

    Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family. If she could live anywhere other than Morpeth, it would be in a hot country by the sea!

Hygienists

  • Sarah Warwick

    Dental Hygienist GDC Reg No. 4280 | Dip. Dent Hygiene Liv 1992

    Sarah qualified from Liverpool School of Dental Hygiene in 1992 and has been in the dental profession for 30 years, with over 25 years’ experience in dental hygiene.

    She gets great career satisfaction from enabling patients to maintain their teeth, and finds it rewarding to see dental hygiene improving in response to treatment and advice.

    Outside of the practice, she spends her Sunday mornings freezing on the touchline at Morpeth RFC with her husband and two boys. If she wasn’t a Hygienist, she’d love to be a Latin American ballroom dancer!

  • Deborah Prince

    Dental Hygienist GDC Reg No. 114449 | Dip. Dental Hygiene Ncle 2007

    Deborah qualified from Newcastle in 2007 with a diploma in Dental Hygiene. She enjoys all aspects of her job, but gets a lot of satisfaction from seeing her patients leave the surgery with a smile on their face, and relaxed after their patient care. She also enjoys treating nervous patients.

    Outside of the practice, she enjoys sports and is a big snooker fan. She is also a huge animal lover and helps out with her sister’s dog walking business. She also loves her own dogs, Ralphy and Ruby and her hamster, Alan!

  • Lorraine Watson

    Lead Dental Nurse GDC Reg No. 161732 | National Certificate for Dental Surgery Assistants (Newcastle College 1993)

    Lorraine qualified from Newcastle College in 1993 and has many years of experience in dental care. She has furthered her learning and development by completing many extra-curricular courses.

    She describes herself as ‘organised chaos’ and manages to juggle here busy home life with work. In her free time, she loves walking her dogs, keeping fit and spending time with her two children.

  • Nicola Watson

    Dental Nurse GDC Reg No. 115786 | NVQ level 3 in Dental Nursing (Newcastle Dental Hospital, 2002)

    Nicola qualified from Newcastle Dental Hospital in 2002 after gaining NVQ level 3 in Dental Nursing. She also likes to keep her knowledge up to date by attending regular courses.

    She also has a certificate in Dental Radiography which she acquired in 2007 and also completed her implant training in 2012. She is a friendly and outgoing person who enjoys being as part of the successful team at Bupa Dental Care Morpeth.

    Outside of work, she enjoys keeping fit, travelling and spending quality time with her family and friends.

  • Georgia Richmond

    Dental Nurse GDC Reg No. 273097 | NVQ level 3 in dental nursing (Diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 QCF City & Guilds 2017)

    Georgia is a qualified dental nurse at Bupa Dental Care Morpeth. She has always been interested in dentistry and gained her NVQ level 3 in dental nursing at the North East Chambers of Commerce in 2015.

    She is hard-working and reliable and enjoys working with a wide range of people. Outside of the practice, she loves to spend time with her family, friends and boyfriend. If she could have an alternate career, it would be a forensic photographer in New York.

  • Jessica Morris

    Dental Nurse GDC Reg No. 266491 | Diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 QCF City & Guilds 2016

    Jessica has always wanted to work in the healthcare profession because of her love of human biology and her caring nature. She enjoys learning new skills as well and about all aspects of patient care.

    She has a calm and reassuring manner and relates well to all people including children. She loves spending time with her family and her boyfriend who is currently serving in the Armed Forces.

  • Ashleigh Watson

    Dental Nurse GDC Reg No. 276905 | Diploma in Dental Nursing Level 3 QCF City & Guilds 2018)

    Ashleigh has always been interested in working in the healthcare sector, as she has a kind and caring nature. She was attracted to dentistry as she loves science. She joined the practice as a trainee in 2016 and qualified in May 2018. Outside of the practice, she enjoys spending time with her family and socialising with her friends.

  • Paula Darkin

    Practice Manager GDC Reg No. 108032 | Cert Proficiency in Dental Surgery Assistant NEBDSA 1990

    Paula graduated in 1990 with the National Certificate for Dental Surgery Assistants. In 1993, she completed her Certificate in Oral Health Education and in 1997, completed her Further Adult Education Teaching Certificate. To further her career, she worked in Newcastle Dental Hospital within the sedation department and achieved her Certificate in Conscious Sedation. She owned her own business, where she taught dental nurses how to achieve their diploma in dental nursing. She was also a dental nursing tutor for 16 years and loved every minute of it. She has an interest in Health & safety and compliance and completed her NEBOSH in 2017.

    In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and she has a passion for baking.

  • Amy Reed

    Patient Coordinator GDC Reg No. 110511 | National Certificate NEBDN 2004

    Amy has been at the practice for over 10 years now. She qualified from Newcastle College in 2004 after gaining The National Certificate for Dental Nurses. She has excellent communication skills to reassure patients and create a friendly atmosphere in the practice.

    She is currently a patient coordinator and likes to think that in her role provides great customer service to patients, builds a trusting relationship with them and provides them with a positive dental experience. She explains terminology and procedures to put you at ease. She is a mum to a little boy and finds her days off are filled with his social life, but when she does have any spare time, she loves to play darts and ride horses.
