  • David Gates

Lead Dentist GDC Reg No: 63978 | BDS London 1988

I love helping you get the smile you've always wanted or if you’ve broken a tooth, being able to reassure you that we can restore or replace the tooth. I also love showing you pictures of similar cases, so that you can see for yourself that the treatment will exceed your expectations. We really enjoy solving tricky dental problems in the most minimal way possible and have assembled an excellent team to help you with this, including specialists and hygienists.

As I am sure you know, I don't spend 24 hours a day being a dentist. Every Sunday I head for the Surrey hills to ride my mountain bike. Together with some friends we hurtle down the steep dirt trails and then very slowly cycle back up again after stopping for tea and cake at the Peaslake village stores.

My other great love (apart from my wife and two gorgeous daughters) is music. I am quite sure I must have asked many of you what type of music you listen to. I have quite an eclectic taste as you may have noticed from the varying selection of music that has been played at the practice from time to time.

I really enjoy the surf and sand and this is our first port of call as a family whenever the weather allows. We have been known to be sitting on Bournemouth beach [a patient tipped me off on the best one to go to - Highcliffe beach] in the depths of winter throwing a frisbee, drinking a latte and enjoying a little of the warm winter sunshine.”

  • Adam Chapman

Associate Dentist GDC Reg No: 83632 | BDS Sheff 2004

I am originally from Basingstoke and qualified from Sheffield University in 2004. I have always seen further development as key, so year on year I commit to completing numerous post graduate courses to continue to develop my skills. This means I am able to offer my patients the most up to date treatment options and advice.

Most new patients are apprehensive but have something about their smile that they would like to change. I love taking the time to explore and understand your concerns before working together, at your own pace, to overcome these. I feel I am in a very privileged position where I can have such a positive impact on my patients’ well-being and self-confidence through the treatments I can provide.

The latest treatment options are becoming simpler and less invasive, meaning more comfortable treatment in less time. I would love to show and share my success stories with you so hopefully you can achieve your dental goals and become one of those stories too.

Outside of work, I have a busy life with the twins and Alfie. There is never a dull day in our household but when I do get some time to myself I enjoy running, racket sports and Formula 1 weekends!

You know how some people absolutely dread or are petrified of going to the dentist. Well most of my patients enjoy their visits to see me!

Many of them I have been treating for over 25 years now.

We talk about everything, including dentistry and I would love to reassure you too, that I will treat you in this pleasant, painless and relaxed manner which will help you overcome your nerves and means you will enjoy and look forward to your future visits with me.

  • Vidya Kurup

Associate Dentist GDC Reg No: 100890 | BDS (Mumbai) 2000, Statutory Exam (London) 2005, MSc Restorative (London) 2015, MFGDP 2017

A smile can lighten up even the darkest of days; hence it is not surprising that people lose confidence when they are unable to smile. Equally, popular folklore makes a dentist visit sound very painful. My aim is to provide my patients with the very best oral healthcare in calm and comfortable surroundings. My patients find me very approachable as I like to listen to them and make it my mission to overcome their fears and regain their confidence. Dental techniques have evolved and become increasingly painless, which coupled with my friendly and ever smiling team will ensure that your visit is relaxing. We have had more than a few patients catch a snooze on the dental chair! To deliver the optimum patient care, I ensure that I am constantly improving & enhancing my knowledge and skills. I have continued to attend courses and lectures like pursuing a Masters in Restorative Dentistry from Eastman London. These have equipped me to treat more complex cases including the management of tooth wear and restorative work.

Outside of the Clinic, my family is the centre of my Universe. It includes my son who is growing up faster than I think and a husband whose ‘dad jokes’ provide enough reasons for teeth clenching at home. As a family we love travel and food, and many a times they combine to create some lovely memories. Watching my son grow, I feel strongly about preventative dentistry for all the family and this is central to the philosophy and ethos of what I bring to my practice. Being a dentist can be like being a parent, a friend, an artist rolled into one. It is also a privilege that allows me to combine artistic creativity with the ability to help others by making them feel confident about their smile. The most satisfying part of my job is to see the end result and knowing how I have played my part in ensuring my patients have the smile they want. So come along and let me get you smiling again.
