Associate Dentist BDS (Liverpool 1992) | GDC reg no. 68293
Waris qualified from Liverpool Dental Hospital in 1992 and then undertook a year of postgraduate Vocational Training in General Dental Practice. He has worked in general dental practices in the North West since then, apart from a nine month period when he worked as a resident senior house officer in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Doncaster Royal Infirmary dealing with in-patient care and oral-facial trauma and conditions.
He has also obtained the Canadian National Dental Licence that was obtained through a series of written, practical and clinical examinations. He moved to Thompson, Manitoba but after a couple of months of minus 40c temperatures, he realised that old blighty wasn’t too bad and has been with us at the practice since 2001.
Waris’ dental interests are preventative, general restorative dentistry and cosmetics. He is currently undertaking the prestigious two year post graduate Diploma in Restorative Dentistry with the Royal College of Surgeons. This consists of monthly lectures and hands-on courses on various aspects of restorative dentistry including treatment planning, periodontics, endodontics, removable and fixed prosthodontics. As there are also monthly exams and essays, his evening entertainment for the moment is reading dental journals.
Outside of dentistry his interests are spending time with his wife, gardening, travel, cooking, yoga and meditation.
