    Associate Dentist HNC in Dental Technology (Aberdeen 1992), BDS (Dundee 1999) | GDC reg no. 76174

    Robert gained a HNC in Dental Technology in 1992 and worked as a Dental Technician in Aberdeen until 1993. He then went on to complete his BDS degree at Dundee University in 1999. Born and raised in Aberdeen he has worked as a dentist at the practice since 2000.

    Robert is an experienced and invaluable member of the team and is very keen to welcome patients to the practice. He is keen to put even the most nervous patient’s fears at ease!

    Robert keeps up to date with the latest techniques and procedures to a high standard for all patients. His relaxing approach helps patients to feel at ease and feel confident while undergoing dental treatment.

    Out of work Robert is married with three children. He enjoys playing football with his children, playing tennis and holidaying in the Highlands of Scotland.

  • Clare Perrell-Jones

    Associate Dentist BDS Hons, (Newcastle 1998) MSc Restorative Dentistry (Warwick) | GDC reg no. 74416

    Clare graduated from Newcastle University Dental School with honours in 1998 and worked in the surrounding area for two years. She then moved to Aberdeen where she worked for the same private dental practice for 16 years before joining the team at Queens Road.

    Clare is always keen to enhance her dental knowledge and skills and has completed numerous courses including a year-long dental implant certification, various cosmetic orthodontic courses (she is accredited to provide Invisalgn, Inman Aligner and Fastbraces) and postgraduate studies in intravenous sedation.

    Clare completed the four year Master’s degree with distinction in Restorative Dentistry from the University of Warwick. This further degree allows Clare to diagnose, plan and treat advanced and complex cases included tooth wear, missing teeth, aesthetic issues and gum problems.

  • Ania Ratkowska

    Associate Dentist BDS (Gdansk, Poland 1998)| GDC reg no. 104529

    Ania joined the practice on a permanent basis in 2017, after working part-time for two years. Ania graduated in 1989 from the Medical Academy in Gdansk. After graduating, she worked as an Associate Dentist in Gdansk for seven years before moving to Scotland in 2006. 

    Ania has attended many dental courses and has a keen interest in expanding her knowledge and experience within aesthetic dentistry. She aims to restore and enhance the natural beauty of smiles using state-of-the-art procedures that provide beautiful and long-lasting results. She believes minimally invasive dentistry has become an essential component in creating functional, aesthetic and increased longevity restorations.

  • Javier Bobes Bascaran

    Associate Dentist BDS, MSc, PhD (Spain 2007) | GDC reg no. 254944

    Javier qualified as dentist in Spain 2007 and worked in private practice for ten years before moving to Aberdeen in 2015.  Javier joined Bupa Dental Care Aberdeen, Queens Road from another local private dental practice.

    Javier has a keen focus on professional development with continuous education; having undertaken many advanced courses in dentistry which includes a MSc in Prosthodontics and Occlusion PhD; diploma in Implantology, training in orthodontics, craneo facial disorders, sleep apnoea, cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, kinesiology and posturology.

    His qualifications along with his working experience allows him to provide the best treatment options for his patients. His personal and professional pleasure is working with patients to prevent and improve all round dental care.

    Javier gets satisfaction from being able to resolve all levels of dental cases from supporting a patient who grinds or clenches their teeth with a simple splint to reduce consequences (headache, jaw problems, and worn-down teeth) to improving one’s ability to chew and enjoy a varied diet using fixed solutions such as implants, crowns or bridges. He also enjoys creating a beautiful smile makeover using the latest technologies (Digital Smile Design) and other aesthetic treatments (veneers, teeth whitening, botox, orthodontics).

    In his leisure time, along with his wife enjoys discovering new places, cultures and food. Coming from a large family and a lover of team sports, Javier has grown up surrounded by people and thoroughly adores interacting with his colleagues and patients. Nowadays, he aims to keep fit by playing racket sports.

  • Victoria Mueller

    Associate Dentist BDS (Aberdeen 2016) | GDC reg no. 265621

    Victoria graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2016 and completed her vocational training in a busy NHS practice in the Scottish Highlands. This allowed her to develop her clinical skills in all aspects of general dental practice as well as giving her the opportunity to tackle challenging clinical situations and complex treatment plans.

    Victoria joined the practice in August 2017. Her ethos is delivering a high level of minimally invasive and preventative dental care for all the family under the NHS. She is very focused on developing a good relationship with patients and colleagues as well as constantly progressing her clinical knowledge and skills through continuous education.

    Victoria also has degrees in Archaeological Science, her research project in “Analysis of stable light isotope profiles of human skeletal and dental tissue to assess diet and climate change in 14th century London” led to her to becoming a dentist.

    In her spare time Victoria enjoys various sports, particularly running, and spending time with her family, friends and her puppy Einstein.

Dental Nurses

  • Heather Rarity

    Dental Nurse NEBDN (Aberdeen 2007) | GDC reg no. 140310

    Heather started at the practice in 1996. Always keen to progress her career and develop new skills, Heather passed her Dental Nurses Qualification in 2007. In 2009 she then went on to successfully pass her Dental Radiography examinations allowing her to take digital X-rays for patients using the practice’s state of the art digital radiography equipment. Outside of dentistry Heather enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

  • Rhea Cusiter

    Dental Nurse National Certificate NEBDN (Aberdeen 2012) | GDC reg no. 246100

    Rhea started at the practice as a trainee dental nurse in 2009. Since then she has gone on to achieve her National Certificate in 2012 and is now a fully qualified dental nurse. Rhea enjoys all aspect of dentistry and has great experience in assisting with surgical procedures. In particular, Rhea enjoys working as part of the team and building relationships with her patients. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and dog Milly.

  • Karen Boyes

    Dental Nurse NEBDN (Aberdeen 2007) | GDC reg no. 139380

    Karen started at the practice in 2003 and completed her dental nursing qualification in 2007.

    Karen enjoys all aspects of dental nursing and she is a friendly and hardworking nurse which has allowed her to build great relationships and trust with her patients. Her friendly and calming manner helps her patients feel comfortable and confident during their treatment.

    In her free time Karen enjoys travelling the world as well as spending time with her family and friends.

  • Melissa Rennie

    Dental Nurse NEBDN (Nov 2010) | GDC reg no. 207665

    Melissa has ten years dental nursing experience in both NHS and private practices and qualified in 2010. She very recently gained an extra qualification in basic impression taking.

    Melissa recently joined the clinic from a very busy NHS practice in Aberdeenshire. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry from meeting new patients, developing a trusting relationship with them as well as working as part of a team.

    Outside work, Melissa enjoys socialising with friends and walking her dog Maisie.
