Bernadette Shipley

Practice Limited To Endodontics (GDC Reg No. 60562) BDS MSc Endo

Bernadette qualified BDS from Liverpool University in 1985.  She started her career with hospital posts in Liverpool and Birmingham Universities and joined the Community Dental Service in 1987 to pursue her interest in treating children and people with dental anxiety. In response to their complex treatment needs and to the number of children seen with untreated trauma, she decided to undertake an MSc in Restorative Dentistry with an emphasis on endodontics. Following this she was asked to accept honorary posts in both paediatrics and periodontology at Liverpool University. This involved clinical supervision, training and treatment.  She was also a Vocational Trainer whilst working for North Mersey Trust.

Bernadette moved to the South of England in 1999.  She works in general practice as well as providing services for people with special needs including dental phobia, referred to the Community Dental Service.  As part of the latter role she participates in the provision of training in endodontics and conscious sedation as well as supporting the newly qualified registrants. Bernadette is pleased to receive referrals for endodontic treatments and re-treatments.

Please let us know if you would like to restore the root filled tooth yourself or if you would like Bernadette or one of the restorative clinicians to complete the restoration of the tooth. Please also do not hesitate to contact Bernadette if you have any questions regarding endodontic treatment.

Bernadette is pleased to receive referrals for endodontic treatments, retreatments, either privately or via the NHS non-contractual referral process.

The addition of Bernadette means that we are able to attend to endodontic referrals in a much shorter space of time than we have been able to recently. Bernadette will be pleased to receive referrals for endodontic treatments, for re-treatments, or for endodontic surgery.
