Specialist in Oral Surgery (GDC Number - 50619) MSc BDS FDS RCSEd MSurgDent RCSEd
Stephen qualified from Guy's Hospital Dental School in 1976 and whilst still a student, was commissioned by the Royal Navy. On qualifying he remained at Guy's Hospital for six months undertaking a House Officers position in Oral Surgery.View full profile

Specialist in Prosthodontics, Michael qualified from Guy's Dental Hospital in December 1989. Following six months as a Dental House Officer and Senior House Officer he joined the Royal Naval Dental Services for a five year commission. He then returned to London in 1997 to study a Masters programme in Conservative Dentistry whilst working part-time in General Dental Practice. In April 2000 he gained his Membership in Restorative Dentistry of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and was registered as a Specialist in Prosthodontics by the General Dental Council in July 2000. Michael is a Senior Clinical Teacher at the Dental Institute of King’s College London where he teaches Clinical Dentistry to the dental undergraduates and is the Deputy Programme Director for the Advanced Minimal Intervention MSc by Distance Learning. He also teaches and assesses for the Distance Learning programmes in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics and Aesthetic Dentistry. He has previously been a Board Member of the Faculty of General Dental Practice at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He has been shortlisted twice for Dental Teacher of the Year, in 2007 and 2008 and is a member of several professional organisations including the UK Association of Dental Implantology, The British Society of Restorative Dentistry and the Chicago Dental Society. At the Wessex Dental Specialist Centre, Michael provides fixed and removable solutions for worn, broken and missing teeth. He aims to restore teeth adopting a Minimum Intervention approach wherever possible, to preserve existing tooth structure. Michael works in close collaboration with Mark Patterson and the team of dental technicians from the in-house dental laboratory. Michael is also pleased to accept referrals from colleagues for the management of dental caries, snoring appliances and for assistance in care planning for a variety of dental needs.View full profile

Navid obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Manchester University and subsequently moved to Scotland to pursue his career in Endodontics. Whilst working in general, salaried and hospital dental services in Scotland, he acquired the membership of dental surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and graduated with distinction from the University of Glasgow with his masters in Endodontics.View full profile

Hygienist (GDC Number 2240) GDC - 2240 -- CEB Dip Dent Hygiene 1994
Debra qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 1981 in the WRNS. After serving in the Portsmouth and Plymouth areas for 12 years, she then went into General NHS and Private practices in Winchester and Hove, then Warsash and Wickham, before moving to the Wessex in 2004, with the ex-Navy Specialists that she had trained and been working with. Since qualifying Debra has completed additional training in local anaesthetics, recementing temporary crowns, temporary fillings and impression taking. Whilst in the Navy and at the Wessex she has been involved in pre and post graduate training and was Treasurer on the Southern Hygienist group committee for two years. As well as working two days a week at the Wessex in the Periodontal Department, seeing patients from all of the Specialist departments, she also works one day a week in private practice.

Dental Hygienist (GDC Number 2683) GDC - 2683 -- CEB Dip Dent Hygiene 1996
Tina qualified with the Royal Navy in 1983 and left the Navy in 1987. She has lived in Fareham since then and started working with Stephen Green, one of our General Dentists in 1997. Tina carries out routine hygiene appointments for Stephen and Christine's patients and is also available to see you for Direct Access hygiene appointments, please chat with our Reception Team for more information. Tina enjoys travelling; in particular she enjoys cruises with her family. She is also interested in football and currently follows Eastleigh football club.View full profile
Linda qualified as Dental Nurse on 19 May 1973 and has only ever had two jobs - her first job was for 32 years and she has been part of the Wessex Team since it opened in 2004. She is radiography trained and works in the Periodontal and Oral Surgery departments. Her hobbies include enjoy great outdoors, gardening, walking, photography and reading.
Amanda is a fully qualified and registered Dental Nurse since 2009 and has worked in both NHS and private practices as a clinical and administrative assistant. She has been part of the Wessex Team since March 2015, predominantly in Oral Surgery. She has recently (September 2015) passed and gained a Certificate in Radiography with IMECS. She will be attending the National Sedation Course commencing March 2016.
Rebecca has been a registered Dental Nurse since 2011. She is radiography trained and works in the Oral Surgery and Endodontic departments. She works mainly in Oral Surgery and Endodontics. Her hobbies include spending time with her husband and camping.
Sheila joined the Wessex Team in 2004 and is radiography trained. She trained at Cauldon College, Stoke-on-Trent and has been a Dental Nurse for 38 years. She joined the Womens Royal Naval Service in 1981, serving for five years and then worked in NHS, private and specialist practices.
Pip has been part of the Wessex Team since 2012. She qualified as a Dental Nurse in 1998, is radiography trained and works in the Prosthodontic Team. Pip looks after patients in the surgery during their journey with us. In her spare time she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.
Penny studied dental nursing at Portsmouth University. She enjoys meeting new people and spending time with her family.
Heidi is a Dental Nurse. She is radiography trained and works in the Oral Surgery Team.
Christie joined the Wessex Team in November 2015 and is a registered Dental Nurse and has been qualified for nine years. She has previously worked at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth where she worked with many of our clinicians at the Wessex.
Becky joined the Wessex Team in 2011 and has been a qualified Dental Nurse since 2006. She is radiography trained and works in general dentistry, having previously worked in private and NHS practices, giving her a wide variety of experience and knowledge. In her spare time Becky enjoys days out and socialising and spending time with her two children.
Marie is a Dental Nurse and is currently on maternity leave (February 2016).
Charlotte is a Dental Nurse within the Centre
Julia started dental nursing in 1992 on the west coast of Scotland, moved to Gosport in 1997 and graduated from Portsmouth University in 2000, gaining a NEBDN qualification. She has been part of the Wessex Team since August 2015 and works alongside Prosthodontist Neil Thorburn. In December 2015 she gained a Certificate in Radiography with IMECS.
Ali joined the Wessex Team approximately eight years and started working full time in the Oral Surgery Team. She then left to have two children and has returned, working two days a week in Prosthodontic Team. Ali is from Bognor Regis and has lived there for approximately 20 years.
Julie joined the Wessex Team as a Decon Assistant and ordering and putting away the stock for the Centre. Her current role is solely Decon Assistant due to the expansion of the Centre and the number of clinicians we now have!
The Support Team
Alice is the Practice Manager and has been part of the Wessex Team since 2004. She is happy to help you with any questions or concerns you may have and looks forward to welcoming you to the Centre. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her young family.
Kerry has worked as part of the Wessex Team since September 2007, with the exception of a one year break and started as part of the Reception Team. She then became Lead Receptionist and now her role is Practice Co-ordinator which she has been doing for the past year, dealing with all incoming private and NHS referrals, contacting referring dentists and making all patients consultation appointments. In her spare time she enjoys walking her dog Bailey, attending boot camp with fellow Wessex employees and reading.
Pamela has been part of the Wessex Team since 2005 and is the Patient Co-ordinator/Senior Nurse. She is radiography trained and has been a registered Dental Nurse since 1988. Her role includes supporting patients, offering guidance through their dental treatment, including payment plans and explaining different procedures. She is also on hand to offer advice and liaise between the referring dentist and our dental team.
Cath started in the Wessex Team in 2007 as part of the Reception Team. She then worked in both Reception and Secretarial Teams before becoming Practice Administrator. Her job role includes typing correspondence for all 17 clinicians, preparation of the Lead Clinician’s patient medical records and any ad-hoc administrative duties to ensure the Centre runs smoothly and efficiently. In her spare time, she enjoys time with her family, going to the theatre and cinema, eating out and holidays.
Jayne joined the Wessex Team in June 2015. Her duties are shared with the other Practice Administrator and she is here two days per week plus holiday cover. Her job role includes typing correspondence for all 17 clinicians, preparation of the Lead Clinician’s patient medical records and any ad-hoc administrative duties to ensure the Centre runs smoothly and efficiently.
She is a very happy person, enjoys her role in the company and looks forward to coming to work.
Sam has worked at Oasis since 2009, joining the Wessex Team in 2011 and is the Lead Receptionist. Her role includes running reception, meetings and organising tasks. She also supports the Reception Team where needed. She is a mum of two boys who love the outdoors and Sam also loves doing her bit for charity.
Lorraine has been part of the Wessex Team since 2013 and is part of the Reception Team. She enjoys interacting with patients and visitors and also organises our social activities! In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and watching her husband driving his rally car.
Louise is part of the Reception Team. She is due to go on maternity leave as her baby is due.
Zoe has been part of the Wessex Team since 2014 and is part of the Reception Team. She enjoys interacting with patients and visitors and providing excellent customer service. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family.
Amy joined the Wessex Team in January 2016 as part of the Reception Team. She has two cats and a pet turtle and enjoys running and keeping fit.
