If you’re looking for a superior and subtle solution to perfect your smile, we offer Invisalign® straightening treatments to help you achieve just that. Performed by our expert dentists, Invisalign® is an excellent orthodontic treatment designed to align your smile whilst being almost undetectable in appearance.
How does Invisalign® work?
Invisalign® works by gently moving your teeth into position with the use of transparent, removable aligners. These are custom-made for each individual, while fitting comfortably and looking natural as you wear them. Your dentist will create a set of aligners bespoke to you. Each aligner is usually worn for two weeks, before changing to the next one; through this, the teeth change position gradually to achieve the planned result.
The aligners are designed to fit as smoothly as possible, making them practically invisible, and without causing you any irritation. Due to their near invisibility, you can wear your Invisalign® aligners all day, simply removing them to eat or brush your teeth. It is recommended that your wear them for around 20-22 hours each day.
You’ll need to change your aligners approximately every two weeks, a service which will be provided by your dentist. To ensure the treatment is working as it should be, you’ll also have a check-up with your dentist every six weeks or so. This way, your dentist can ensure you’re set to achieve the results you desire, as well as making sure you’re not experiencing any difficulty in wearing the retainers.
Am I suitable for Invisalign®?
If you’re considering getting a straightening treatment, your dentist will thoroughly explain all the options available, finding a solution that works for both your dental health and aesthetic goals. Should Invisalign® be suitable, your dentist will create a treatment plan for you.
In your treatment plan, you’ll first require X-rays as well as impressions to be taken of your teeth, which will be used to create a 3D image. From this, a bespoke plan will be created to ensure that your Invisalign® treatment delivers the best possible result. This can be reviewed before the aligners are created.
How long does it take?
While the process for Invisalign® treatment will wholly depend on your individual requirements, the process normally takes around 12 months to complete.
Once your treatment plan is complete, it will be necessary to wear a retainer to help maintain your newly straightened smile. This is something your dentist will advise on in due course.
