If you’re considering improving the appearance of your smile, opting for dental veneers can be a highly-effective solution. As well as for cosmetic purposes, veneers are suitable for those who’ve experienced damage to their existing teeth, or are seeking a more uniform smile.
Find out more about how veneers can work for you below.
What are veneers?
Made from porcelain or composite, a veneer essentially acts as a replacement cover for your tooth, fitted over mainly the front of your natural tooth to permanently improve the appearance of your smile.
As we use the highest-quality materials, each individual veneer will be tailored to blend in perfectly with the rest of your teeth, so you won’t even notice it’s there.
Am I suitable for veneers?
If you have a tooth that’s started to become discoloured, fractured or even eroded slightly, your dentist may recommend a veneer to rectify this. Veneers can also be used to correct any aesthetic imperfections in your smile, for example, if the placement of one of your natural teeth creates a gap or is crooked, our skilled dentists can fit a veneer to correct this, creating a natural-looking, more confident smile.
How do veneers work?
Before a veneer can be fitted, your dentist will need to properly prepare your current tooth. This might involve removing any damage or causes for concern, or removing a light layer of your natural tooth’s enamel to enable the new porcelain cover to fit perfectly.
Once your dentist is confident that your teeth are prepared, your veneer will be fitted and adjusted to ensure it feels and appears like a natural tooth would.
Your dentist may recommend having a local anaesthetic for this procedure, to ensure you are comfortable throughout.
