Dr Zeena Aseeley

Dr Zena Aseeley joined The Parade in July 2017. She gained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery with an honours degree from Cardiff Dental School at the University of Cardiff in 2009. During her final year in Cardiff, she won the Coltene/Whaledent prize for Restorative Dentistry at graduation and presented a restorative case which involved complex treatment with a multi-disciplinary approach.
In her final year thesis she carried out research on dental materials and is proud to be co-author of 3 published papers in the International Endodontic Journal.
Previous to studying Dentistry she completed a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Dental Technology at the University of Wales, Institute of Cardiff in 2004. She completed her vocational training in Wales, followed by a placement at the Morriston Hospital in Swansea on the Restorative Department
Dr Aseeley then moved and worked as an associate dentist for 5 years in London before moving back to settle in her hometown in Cardiff.
Zena loves all aspects of general dentistry and has much enthusiasm for providing and maintaining optimal oral health for her patients.
Her main interests are non – invasive restorative and aesthetic dentistry as well as simple adult cosmetic orthodontic treatments. She is very committed to continuing professional development and keeping up to date with advancements in dentistry and invests in many courses to further her skills. She is continuing with postgraduate education and is currently studying towards her Master’s degree in Restorative Dentistry at the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute, London. She is currently completing her dissertation on an exciting area of dentistry researching the use of digital scanning technology.
Zena is a certified Invisalign, Six Month Smiles, Smile Tru and C fast short term orthodontics practitioner and can provide her patients with safe and comfortable adult braces. This is a cosmetically focused system with clear brackets for adults with spaced or misaligned teeth and the average treatment time is around 6 months. She loves combining Invisalign treatments with whitening and composite bonding to achieve conservative, minimally invasive smile makeovers.
She has also been trained by internationally recognised Professor Bob Khanna to provide anti-wrinkle muscle relaxing treatments and dermal fillers. Zena has in addition completed the advanced lip masterclass. This is a technique designed by Professor Khanna for recreating the natural, heart shaped appearance of lips.
Zena is keen to be able to change patient's attitudes and confidence towards dentistry especially nervous patients and children with gentle and well-informed dentistry. She prides herself in ensuring that all her patient visits are made as relaxed and comfortable as possible.
Zena is a member of the organisation Dental Phobia whom recognises dentists who treat dentally phobic and anxious patients.
Her long-term plan is to carry out further postgraduate training in Orthodontics and attend some more courses in Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry and Endodontics. She believes her profession is one that needs lifelong learning and keeping up with modern techniques and guidelines and puts much emphasis on evidence-based dentistry.
Dr Aseeley is a member of the British Dental Association, registered with the General Dental Council and the Health Inspectorate Wales and indemnified with Dental Protection and Hamilton Fraser.
Outside of dentistry, Zena enjoys spending time with her family and friends and trying new restaurants.
