Duncan Shadwell qualified as a dental surgeon from the Royal Dental Hospital School of Dental Surgery, London in 1981
Following several residential oral surgery appointments in London, Essex and Cheltenham he settled into general dental practice in Cardiff. In 1993 he was accepted at the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guys and St Thomas’s Hospitals to follow a taught MSc course in Endodontics the teaching of which was shared between Guy’s Hospital and the Eastman Dental Institute. Following the MSc he went on to gain a Masters in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and was accepted onto the Endodontics Specialist List of the General dental Council.
He subsequently taught endodontics at post graduate level at Guy’s Campus, Kings College London, the Eastman Institute London and the Heath Hospital Cardiff. He was awarded the honorary title of Senior Tutor at Cardiff University in 2013. He continues to teach endodontic courses.
He has owned and run two endodontic practices in the past but now solely works at the Parade Specialist Dental Centre where his practice continues to be exclusively endodontics on a referral basis.
He is pleased to work with referring practitioners to seek the highest quality treatment for patients and engage with referrers and patients to achieve this aim.
In 1994 he commenced a two year MSc course in Endodontics at Guys Hospital London. He received a Masters in Restorative Dentistry in 1997 and then established a referral practice for patients requiring specialist endodontic treatment.
