Company Announcement: Bupa UK’s acquisition of Oasis has been cleared by the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA)

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has cleared Bupa’s acquisition of Oasis Dental Care, the UK’s leading private dental provider. This means that Bupa can now begin integrating the two businesses.

Bupa Dental UK will comprise around 420 Oasis and Bupa dental practices, with more than 1,800 clinicians serving over two million patients.
Oasis Dental Care is the second largest dental provider in the UK, and the only branded operator of scale in its market with 380 practices and over 1,800 dentists, serving both the private and public sectors in equal measure. Oasis Dental Care has annual revenue of £277m for the financial year 2015/16, more than 6,000 people and serves 2m active patients in the UK.
Bupa is a global health and care company. It employs over 86,000 people, principally in the UK, Australia, Spain, Hong Kong, Poland, New Zealand, Chile, Brazil, Thailand, China, Saudi Arabia, India and the US. Around 70% of Bupa’s revenue is from health insurance, with the rest from health and care provision. Bupa funds healthcare around the world and runs clinics, dental centres, hospitals, care homes and retirement villages in a number of countries.
