Alya’s Story- keeping it simple Alya came to me because she didn’t like smiling. Her main complaints were that her teeth were yellow and following a root canal treatment that one of her teeth had gone grey. As a busy single parent juggling a job in PR with looking after her daughters and trying to keep a normal social life. With a few simple treatments we were able to give her what she was looking for. We started with a thorough scale & polish with our dental hygienist to remove any stains at the same time as demonstrating the simple techniques she needed to adopt to her keep her gums in perfect health. The next stop was tooth whitening and we opted to use overnight tray whitening, as we knew this would give her the best chance of a really deep lightening of the teeth. I’m pleased to say, we were both delighted with the result. |

| The dark tooth was a bit, especially as Alya wanted it to look perfect. We opted to use a new type of ‘Zirconia’ porcelain crown, to give us the translucency we needed to create the perfect look whilst blocking out the dark tooth underneath. We also elected to reshape the gum line around this tooth slightly with a very simple, painless procedure to complete the perfect picture. We are great believers in great team work in our practice and the crown was custom-made for Alya by our very talented technician Steve Rea. Having worked together for some 23 years he has a wonderful talent for turning a vision into reality. As usual he didn’t disappoint! Once the crown was fitted the icing on the cake was a small, subtle adjustment to the pointed eye tooth to line it up with the one on the other side. Alya was absolutely thrilled with the result and hasn’t stopped smiling since. Friends, family and colleagues comment on her teeth now for all the right reasons, and she feels her new smile has transformed her confidence professionally and personally. She now runs her own business and enjoys herself socially safe in the knowledge that she has the beautiful smile she longed for. How the natural look gave Amanda a boost Amanda Collins, 34-year-old mother of two girls. Amanda’s main concern was some veneers that were about three years old, her main complaint was that they looked yellowy/grey, were uneven and constantly rubbed on her lower lip, following an in-depth interview to discover what Amanda was looking for we established that her ideal was to have a nature smile rather than a row of uniform white blocks, or the piano key look as we sometimes call it. Amanda chose to have eight upper and eight lower matching veneers.
